Steptoe’s are happy to take delivery of the newest addition to our fleet of specialist demolition machinery, a ‘brand-spanking’ Hyundai HX330 hydraulic excavator. This latest generation machine is part of Hyundai’s brand new A-series, which is a fresh generation of construction equipment that complies with the European stage V emission levels. Underneath the bonnet features ‘EPIC’ (Electronic Pump Independent Control), which improves fuel efficiency while maintaining productivity through computerised individual control of hydraulic pumps. The system helps to reduce losses in hydraulic flow and maximise production capacity.
As fuel is one of our main ‘consumables’, and an ‘ever-increasing costly one at that this machine is fitted with an “ECO Gauge”, which gives the operator instant fuel efficiency feedback as they work and information can be fed back to the office to monitor detailed information on average, hourly and daily fuel consumption to help us learn how to try and work more economically.
From a safety perspective, this new machine also features an ‘Advanced Around View Monitoring’ system (AAVM), which gives the operator a 360° overview of their immediate working environment to help prevent accidents. The AAVM includes Intelligent Moving Object Detection (IMOD) technology that senses and warns you when people or objects come within five metres of the machine, thereby alerting the operator to persons or objects who are straying into the machines operating danger zone.
