As part of Steptoe’s Yard Ltd.’s ongoing investment in new and innovative plant and equipment, we have recently purchased a Hiab Crane Wagon as part of our drive for business diversification and to strengthen the overall versatility of our fleet.
This crane wagon adds to our growing ‘stable’ of HGV’s, which now ranges from 8-Wheel Tippers and ‘Ro-Ro’ Skip Wagons to Low-Loaders rated up to 80,000kg Gross carrying capacity, and now having a Crane Wagon on our fleet will enable us to ‘lift and shift’ all manner of equipment and goods across our group of companies, as well as being available for hire to businesses and domestic customers across the UK.
Such a versatile piece of equipment will be incredibly useful for our demolition business, Hardcore Crushing Ltd when setting up site welfare accommodation and when dismantling large awkward elements of high-level structures, or for the recovery and salvage of large and heavy equipment such as mechanical & electrical plant.
The crane will also come into its own when delivering architectural masonry products from Steptoe’s stone products division, especially if bespoke products need to be lifted onto scaffolding at high level or over obstructions into otherwise inaccessible parts of a site etc.
So, there will be no doubt that this new Crane Wagon will be a very useful addition to the fleet and on top of utilising the vehicle ourselves it will be available for private hire to anyone who might need to carry out specialist lifting and shifting activities.
